Year 3 Automotive and Metal Technology Lesson Planners for SHS | NaCCA Aligned

This planner follows the Year 3 Automotive and Metal Technology teacher manual week by week, split across both semesters.

First Semester (Weeks 1-12)

• CNC machines: programming, plus lathe, milling, drilling and grinding operations.
• Engine systems: fuel supply for SI and CI engines, and air intake and exhaust systems.
• Forced induction: superchargers, turbochargers and catalytic converters.
• Modern manufacturing: 3D printers, lasers, and design and manufacture principles.

Second Semester (Weeks 13-24)

• Vehicle electrics: charging, lighting, battery, ignition and starting systems.
• Automotive electronics: engine management and on-board diagnostics.
• Metal fabrication: soldering, brazing and special welding techniques.
• Modern vehicles: electric vehicles, safe motoring and entrepreneurial skills.
